Parks Highway MP 44-52
DOT&PF Project No. IM-0A4-1(25/26) / 57178
In September 2010 the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) finalized the environmental assessment (EA) for the project, selected the preferred alternative, and received a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Parks Highway MP 44-52 Lucus Road to Big Lake Road project from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The FONSI cleared the way for the detailed design of the project to begin. Design funding is available for all phases.
Phase 1, Lucus Road to Church Road, is under construction.
Go to www.alaskanavigator.org for information on construction.
Phase 2, Church Road to Pittman Road. Design and right of way acquisition is underway. The preferred alternative is a 4-lane section with a depressed median with limited access and several new frontage roads.
Phase 3, Pittman Road to Big Lake Road. Design work continues. Right of way acquisition will begin in 2014 pending FHWA approval to Appraise and Acquire.
Keep checking the project web site as the team periodically posts updated information showing the design in progress. Visit the public involvement page to send the team questions or comments.
